Founded by Dr. Anna Dengel M.D. in Washington D.C., U.S.A, in 1925, Medical Mission Sisters is an international religious congregation of women with more than seven decades of extensive health care experience. Over the years we have come to the realization that poverty and injustice are closely interconnected with health and availability of health services.

Our mission of healing and search for wholeness have therefore led us to work for justice , advocacy for the poor, empowerment of women, protecting and supporting all life on earth, awakening the gifts of healing in others through training and education. Thus our approach to health and healing has become more holistic.
